How to report a fire

1. Call 999, ask for fire and answer the questions from the Emergency Services operator. Do not hang up the phone until they have correctly repeated the address of the location of the fire.

2. Report the fire to the property managers:

Responsibilities

To provide instructions to Jennings & Barrett regarding Building Safety Compliance

To take responsibility for the preparation and application of a Resident's Engagement Strategy, as well as it's reviews and version creation.

To register the building with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and notify the BSR of any changes to the building.

To report safety occurrences to the BSR and report them on the Mandatory Occurrence Reporting System.

To keep certain information about the building.

To provide building information to relevant individuals and organisations.

To, if necessary, issue contravention notices to residents in accordance with the terms in the lease, if residents are causing a building safety risk, interfering with a safety item, or failing to comply with requests for information to help the AP carry out their duties.

To apply for a court order in cases where a contravention notice has not been complied with by a resident.

To manage the building's safety and structure, including: 

  • Preparing and updating the building safety case report
  • Report safety occurrences to the BSR
  • Operate a complaints system
  • Display the required information and documentation clearly within the building
  • Prepare and update the resident engagement strategy
  • Apply for the Building Assessment Certificate when invited to do so by the BSR
  • Provide building information to relevant individuals and organisations.
